Applying wig glue can be tricky, especially for those with sensitive skin. Choosing the right product and following proper application techniques are crucial to ensure comfort and longevity.
Step 1: Cleanse Your Skin
Begin by cleansing your hairline with a gentle, alcohol-free cleanser to remove oils and impurities. Avoid using alcohol-based wipes as they can irritate sensitive skin.
Step 2: Patch Test
Before full application, perform a patch test by applying a small amount of glue on the inside of your wrist. Wait 24 hours to check for any adverse reactions.
Step 3: Apply a Thin Layer of Glue
Using a rat tail comb, apply a thin layer of glue along your hairline. Avoid over-applying; a little goes a long way.
Step 4: Wait for the Glue to Become Tacky
Allow the glue to dry until it becomes tacky to the touch. This usually takes about 30-60 seconds. You can use a blowdryer on cold to accelerate the process.
For a longer hold, add 2-3 thin layers. Wait until it is try to apply each layer.
Step 5: Attach the Lace Wig
Gently position the lace wig starting from the front and press it into the tacky glue. Use a comb to smooth out any wrinkles and ensure a secure fit.
Step 6: Let It Set
Allow the wig to set for at least 10 minutes before styling to ensure a strong bond. For a better melt, use our satin melt band and our melting spray.
By following these steps and using a gentle wig glue like Cabell's, you can achieve a secure and comfortable fit without compromising your skin's health.
